Wine – Wine Scouts Pedro’s pet wine this week is “Jane Ventura Blanc Selecció (Spanish, white, organic): Straw yellow colour. Aromas of tropical fruit (lychee and pineapple), grapefruit and scents of fennel.
In the mouth, it shows a nice volume, mineral and crispy with white flowers reminiscences. Long finish and persistent.
Made from fifteen different vineyards, either owned by the property (Mas Vilella and Finca Els Camps) or by quality growers of the Baix Penedès area in Catalonia, Spain.
: Jane Ventura uses cold-temperature skin maceration of the must to achieve higher aromatic expression and more structure on the palate. Then the must is pressed, drawn off, allow to settle for 24 hours and then fermented at low temperature (17º C) in inox tanks and 3 months ‘sur lie’.”
