Ben’s Bakery is run by pastry chef Ben Knell.  Ben trained at London’s famous Westminster College before working his way up through the ranks of some of London’s most prestigious hotels & Michelin starred restaurants. He was Head Pastry Chef at the original Hakkasan when they received their first star, and whilst working with Jun Tanaka at Pearl, was named by the Sunday Times as one of the ‘Best 10 Pastry Chefs’ in the country.

Ben says, “After my son was born I took a role as group pastry chef in a catering company running large events such as Royal Ascot, Wimbledon and Lords. It was there that  I grew a passion for running stalls.  I sell fine dining items stripped back of the pomp at reasonable prices. Core items include; salted caramel chocolate fudge, seasonal pate de fruit, gluten free polenta yuzu cake, vegan chocolate pots and Jaffa bombs sprayed with dark chocolate.

My menu is always changing and is seasonal.  Here are some examples of what you might find on the stall:

  1. Hand make Cakes (such as red velvet, Guniess malt cake, lemon cake, vegan cake etc…)
  2. Hand make chocolate fudges (salted caramel, Bailey, vegan fudge etc…)
  3. Desserts (cheesecake, meringue tart, etc)
  4. Cookies – lots
  5. Sweet treats – (pate de fruit, marshmallow.etc…)

There’s always something gluten free, dairy free or vegan as well for those who want of need it.
