CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: ‘Art and Spirituality

The exhibition: aims to stimulate questions about spirituality and its expression in art in today’s society. Images on view may relate to established faiths but equally may relate to other approaches to the spiritual dimension of life. The exhibition is planned to take place from 21st to 26th June 2016 in All Saints Church, Upper Norwood SE19 3TD.

We are inviting submissions of work that links with the theme of spirituality. Works can address any aspect of or understanding of spirituality; they do NOT have to be religious.

Deadline for submissions: 31st March 2016

Practical details: Work should be 2 dimensional and maximum dimensions are approx 1m (W) x 1.5m(H). The interior of the church cannot accommodate 3 dimensional work but outdoor sculpture will be considered as this could be sited in the church grounds.

How to submit work: Please send photographs of submissions as attachments, along with titles and dimensions and a statement of up to 200 words to the exhibition organiser Tim Wright at: [email protected] Note: please send images as simpl905598_1641878556100031_6209534559760843137_oe attachments to an email. Resolution does not need to be high.

Selection: We aim for the exhibition to be inclusive but if necessary a panel will make decisions on submissions based on thematic relevance and practical considerations. The panel will include local artists and a representative of All Saints Church.

Talks and discussions: We also aim to organise a panel discussion on the theme of art and spirituality to take place during the exhibition. Please contact me if you would be interested in participating in this.
