Forget boiling them, and don't bother with the criss cross nonsense on the bottom. Halve them and roast or stir-fry. They offer so much more flavour these ways.

- Sprouts - halved
- Olive Oil
- Onion - thinly sliced
- Lemon zest & juice
- Salt Pepper
- Chilli Flakes
- Garlic - chopped or thinly sliced
- Roast in a 180C/Gas 4 oven after tossing in a slosh of olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon zest and juice. Add some thinly sliced onion and thyme. Roast for 15-20 mins or till nicely tender. Extremely modish.
- Cook everything together in a wok till just tender and bright glossy green.
